Andrea M. Ferrari

Partner

Ms. Ferrari has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She joined HealthCare Appraisers from the health law practice group of a major international law firm. She has provided counsel and representation to various types of clients in the healthcare industry, including hospitals and health systems, physicians and physician groups, and pharmaceutical and medical device vendors, distributors and manufacturers. Ms. Ferrari has previously served as associate general counsel of a public health system, and in the in-house legal department of a major academic medical center. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Ferrari managed clinical trials and healthcare quality and patient safety research for nearly seven years.

In addition to providing counsel on transactional matters, Ms. Ferrari has assisted in representing clients in investigations and proceedings by state and federal regulatory agencies, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Office of Inspector General of the United States Department of Health and Human Services (OIG), the Florida Department of Health, and the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). Her past experience includes assisting a large national corporation with an internal investigation to uncover compliance issues in advance of government action.

Ms. Ferrari is an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA), and currently serves as Chair of AHLA’s Public Health Systems Affinity Group, which is dedicated to addressing unique concerns for the more than 1,000 public hospitals and health agencies in the United States. She is immediate past Chair of AHLA’s FMV Affinity Group, a position in which she served for three years. She is also a past Vice Chair of the AHLA/NACVA (National Association of Certified Valuators & Analysts) Joint Work Group, and of the FMV Affinity Group. She served on AHLA’s Best Practices in Health Law Curriculum’s Work Group from 2012 to 2014 and was a liaison to AHLA’s Healthcare Reform Educational Task Force in 2013 and 2014. Ms. Ferrari is a member of the Florida Bar and a former Florida-Licensed Healthcare Risk Manager. She received a Juris Doctor with a certificate of concentration in Health Law from Boston University School of Law, a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Law from Boston University School of Public Health, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Smith College.
