Mr. Carr’s practice focuses on the appraisal of healthcare businesses and the valuation of healthcare provider compensation relationships, particularly employment arrangements and full-time professional services agreements.  His experience includes serving as an expert witness in matters involving healthcare valuation, as well as retrospective analyses in response to civil investigative demands or internal compliance reviews related to potential self-disclosure.

Mr. Carr’s industry experience includes analysis for and development of joint-venture ASCs, outpatient clinics/procedure areas, “under arrangements” transactions, “per click” leases, and physician contracting, as well as analytical support of cardiovascular, orthopedic, general surgery, and trauma service lines.

Prior to joining HealthCare Appraisers, Mr. Carr was the Director of Finance and Controller of a large academic medical center, where he led the financial analysis, planning, and operations functions for seven business units.  He began his career as a “rocket scientist,” serving with NASA as an engineer in the Space Shuttle and International Space Station programs.

Mr. Carr earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Rice University and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Tennessee.  He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA).
